How to enter the Ph. D. Program
Semester August-December 2015
Required documentation (the deadline for presenting the information is Junio 15, 2015)
- Introduction letter signed by the candidates, explaining why he wants to join our Ph. D. program.
- Recommendation letters from two professors from where the student did his Master studies.
- A valid birth certificate.
- Clave Única de Registro de Población (CURP).
- Certificate of its Master study.
- Results of the courses followed during his Master studies, showing a general average higher or equal to 8.0.
- Results of TOEFL exam, showing a minimun of 450 points (deadline November 2015).
- Curriculum Vitae.
- The original of the registration certificate, which can be downloaded from this WEBPAGE, here: http://www.ugto.mx/admisiones/
- Two recent, passeport size photographs in color.

Admission exam
This wil be given at the office of the Department of Astronomy.
- Written exams: Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 9:00 and 16:00 hrs.
- Interview and oral exam: Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 10:00 hrs.
- Results and decision will be revealed to the candidate: Monday, June 22, 2015.
The main goal of the admission exam is to determine the level of knowlegde of the candidate in the following areas: General Astrophyscis, Stellar Formation and Evolution, Observational Astronomy, Galactic Astronomy, Extragalactic Astronomy, Interstellar Medium, and Radiation Processes in Astrophysics. (Syllabus).

1.- Registration to admission exam:
- From May 1 to June 15, 2015.
2.- Delivery of the required documentation:
- From June 1 to 15, 2015.
3.- Entry exam and interview:
- June 17 and 18, 2015.
4-. Formal inscription to program:
- From August 3 to 7, 2015.
5.- Beginning of program:
- August 10, 2015.
